Cars in Germany's Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police mentioned they were contacted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a statement.

Police say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then located numerous other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police report early analysis show the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; investigators are not yet cognizant of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials said they were working "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the community for tips.

A senior political figure stated the vandalism left him speechless and needed to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine people by a assailant focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
